Carmen Road
Sir, —I think it is time Carmen Road bad better lighting. In parts visibility is poor. Being an exceptionally busy thoroughfare, the road should be well lit to prevent further accidents. —Yours, etc., CARMEN ROAD RESIDENT. October 4, 1967. [The chairman of the Paparua County Council (Cr D. H. Warren) replies: "Traffic at the intersection of Buchanans and Carmen Roads, where the recent unfortunate fatal accident occurred, is controlled by stop signs on the Buchanans Road approaches with priority to Carmen Road traffic. Lighting in the vicinity is up to normal standards and, while this factor is unlikely to affect traffic safety at the corner, the Transport Department has been asked to prepare a report on the position for the council’s consideration.”]
