CENTRAL LEAGUE
New Soccer Tourney (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Negotiations are well advanced for the formation next season of a central soccer league. The setting up of this competition will take New Zealand one step nearer the national league. The northern league, based in Auckland, has completed its second season and the N.Z.F.A. has called a meeting next month to discuss the southern league. The central league will comprise teams from Wellington, Poverty Bay, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu, Taranaki and Wairarapa. It is planned that the league will have two divisions of 10 teams each. The first division would comprise the six Wellington teams at the head of the championship table, and four from the present central districts league, and the second division would have four teams from Wellington and six from the central league. Entries close on November 17. There will be a full meeting of the combined associations on November 26.
