HYDATIDS CONTROL
Early Change Unlikely
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 30. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr Taiboys, told Parliament today that it was doubtful whether legislation would be introduced this year to amend the 1959 Hydatids Act —the scheme for the control, prevention and eradication of hydatids on which a committee of inquiry made its recommendations to the Government earlier this year. Mr Taiboys said he had given an undertaking to the National Hydatids Council that it would have “ample time” to prepare its report on the recommendations. “I want to take the report and the observations and go to work and prepare my own recommendations,” he said. “This is going to take some time. I doubt very much that it will be possible to draw up the legislation this year.” BURGLARS FOOLED
