Goods Train Derailed
(N.Z. Press Association)
HAMILTON, August 30.
Three passenger express trains ran late for periods of up to three hours and a half today because of a derailment on the main trunk line just north of Te Awamutu. A goods train travelling from Huntly to Taumarunui lost four waggons, each filled with coal, about half a mile from the Te Awamutu station at 9.40 p.m. last evening. Railways workers were able to clear the track by about 2.30 a.m. today. No-one was injured in the mishap.
