Educational TV
Although the Education Department is still only considering television programmes for schools, it is listing in its official circular “television programmes of educational value.” Items in the broad pattern for all channels are:—
Mondays, 2.3 p.m., halfhour documentary; 5 p.m., "Speak Up”—children's views on world affairs; 6.10 p.m., “Carousel”—fortnightly magazine of overseas films; 6.45 p.m., “Towards 2000”—scientific progress; 8.50 p.m., major documentary features. Fridays, 2 p.m., documentary features.
Sunday, 2.4 p.m., “World Scene,” overseas news roundup and commentary; 9.30 p.m., cultural programmes such as Shakespeare, and music.
