Share Market Slumps Over Wide Range
The share market slumped further on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday. Only three issues rose, and 27 declined. Trading was dull, with low turn-overs, but the range of issues was wide. Price movements were mainly within narrow limits. Falls were spread throughout the lists, few sections escaping losses.
Advances were made by Autocrat, up 5c to 90c, and unit subdivisions, 1c higher at 71c. In the overseas list Lloyds Bank rose 5c to 510 c. B.H.P. lost 10c to 940 c, and E.Z. Industries fell 40c to 260 c.
In the New Zealand list, the largest fall was 10c, by Neill, Cropper, to 225 c. F.A.C. lost 7c to 125 c, and falls of 5c were chalked up by K.P.N.Z. Drug, at 295 c, Tasman Pulp and Paper, at 535 c, and Wilson and Horton, at 165 c.
N.Z. Newspapers lost 2c to 218 c. F.T.C. was 4c cheaper at 93c. J. Wattie Canneries was 3c easier, as was South British
