AUST. PAPER MILLS
Profit Almost Steady (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright/ MELBOURNE, August 30. Australian Paper Manufacturers, Ltd., made small increases in the selling prices of most of its products during 1966-67, the directors say in the annual report. Similar small increases have been found necessary since the end of the financial year. The annual report shows that total sales rose from $83.57m to $89.93m for the year. This involved the sale of 422,571 tons of paper and paperboard, compared with 396,690 tons in the previous year. Export sales of paper and paperboard, woodpulp and packaging machinery jumped from $1,152,000 to $2,069,342. The directors say competition between paper makers in Australia and from imports continued to be keen. The group net profit for the year was $7,370,838 (previously $7,374,739, adjusted).
