First Edition Of Journal
An air-conditioner measuring only 7in by 4in and containing no moving parts has been developed -by an English electronics firm. This is reported in the first edition of “Clean Air,” the quarterly journal of the Clean Air Society of Australia and New Zealand. The magazine says the conditioner is designed to last 10 times'longer than traditional devices. It is suitable for food centres, hospitals, theatres and offices, boats, caravans, kitchens, and coaches, as well as virtually all other conventional air-conditioning uses. “Clean Air”'also gives details of research at Melbourne Univorsity into the problem of air-pollution control. An article, by Mr W. Strauss, the university’s reader in industrial science, says that the research is being undertaken by the only group of its kind outside America and Europe.
