Northcote
Sir,—The residents of Northcote have recently been circularised on the possibility of changing the name of the district Five names have been suggested. I, as a ratepayer, would object to changing an honourable name, borne now for a number of yean. What of the business community, many who bear the name Northcote, the Northcote School, whose pupils bear pride, the bus service? Does the Waimairi Council take notice of a small minority? What of the pioneers who made this choice? I say, leave well alone.— Youn, etc., DANIELS ROAD. August 29, 1967.
