M 1 ISMWI Southbridge took the lead In the Ellesmere Bugby Sub-union's senior competition when the other leading team, Lee. ton, was beaten by Battalion in the fourteenth round of matches on Saturday. Points in the senior competition are: Southbridge 22, Leeston 20, Battalion 18, Darfleld and Irwell 12, Lincoln t. Waihora-Springston won the junior grade when it beat Klrwee, 11-6. It won the grade by three points from Hororata. Results:—' Senior A.— Battalion 6, Leeston 2; Southbridge IS, Darfleld 8; Irwell 12, Lincoln 11. _ Senior B.—United 22, BlackDiamonds 13; Duncandel 17, Prebbleton 0; Leeston 8, Battalion 6. _ Junior,—Hororata 27, Peninsula 3; Waihora-Springston U, Kirwe. 6; Southbridge 20, Irwell 8; Lincoln a bye.
