English Speaking Union
Membership of the Canterbury branch of the English Speaking Union had risen by 18 over the year and now stood at 368, Mr E. F. Scott, the president, told the annual meeting. Mr Scott added that a feature of the last year had been the large attendance of members at the branch’s regular meetings. Officers elected at the meeting were: President, Mr E. F. Scott; senior vicepresident, Mr K. O. M. St. John; junior vice-president, Mr R. W. McNab; immediate past president, Mr J. K. Wakefield; secretary, Miss W. Gilpin; treasurer. Miss F. S. Forrester; librarian, Miss I. Boyle; executive, Mesdames G W. Goodwin, J. A. Turina, E. M. Thomas. Miss L. Webster, Messrs S. Gill, J. 11. Wakefield, J. G. Johnston, 11. M. Crompton, J. S. Ferguson, R. L. Gill, J. G. Grigor.
