One Killed, Two Seriously Hurt
A Lincoln College student was killed and three other students injured, two seriously, when a car hit a power pole in Sparks road about 7 p.m. yesterday.
The student killed was: PETER JOSEPH DUNN, aged 20, son of Mr and Mrs A. S. Dunn, of Hawarden. Peter Templeton, of the Taramakau settlement, Westland, suffered severe head
Injuries. He was on the seriously ill list at the Christchurch Hospital late last night
A second student also suffered head injuries and is on the seriously ill list. His name will not be released until the police have notified his relatives. Eric Millard, of 45 Brownville crescent Dunedin, suffered fairly serious head and chest injuries. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition was reported to be satisfactory. The accident occurred near the corner of Sparks and Hendersons roads. The car was severely damaged. The driver of the car, also a Lincoln College student was not injured. He was taken to the Christchurch Police Station. Two St John ambulances took the other four in the car to the accident and emergency department of the Christchurch Hospital. Mr Dunn was dead on arrival.
