60 Years Of Mousetraps
(from CAROLB LYDBRS, in London) The year 1907 was a black one for rodents. That was the year a Mr Atkinson of Leeds invented the moveable mousetrap. Now the manufacturers are celebrating 60 years of mousetrap production. So far there is no sign of rats and mice giving up the struggle and the firm produces nearly 1,000,000 mousetraps a year, in the traditional cheese town of Caerphilly. Noone has been able to improve on Mr Atkinson’s model as yet.
