(N.Z. Press Association)
HOKITIKA, July 3.
Ten inches of rain fell at Franz Josef Glacier in 22 hours. It has disrupted power supplies and cut the No. 6 highway at a point about seven miles south of Whataroa.
The Waitangi river, which has been flowing into Lake Waihapo since serious floods occurred in the district about two months ago, has again risen and spilled flood waters over the road to a depth of about two feet.
