Blenheim Rd Block
The 3i-acre property and new office block of Wilkins and Davies Construction Company, Ltd., at Blenheim road. Middleton, was for sale, for about £105,000 said the firm’s construction manager (Mr K. Isles) yesterday. The office block was built about three years ago. “We are closing at Blenheim road,” said Mr Isles. “We have a city office in the Manchester Unity buildings and we have built a new yard at Halswell Junction.” Mr Isles said that the company had about 50 or 60 employees left in Christchurch. At one stage it had about 200. The company intends to concentrate on building work and civil engineering in the south. The head office of Wilkins and Davies is in Wellington, but Christchurch is the main office for the South Island.
