LARGER P.O. COMPUTER

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 28. The Post Office’s first computer, installed in 1965, will be replaced by a larger one. The Postmaster-General (Mr Scott) answering a question in Parliament today said that arrangements were being made for the larger computer to take over more detailed work on accounting and stores transactions. Studies were also under way to consider further use of computers in such work as telephone accounts and the Post Office Savings Bank, said Mr Scott.

Welsh Corgi League.—Mr and Mrs T. K. Binnington’s Miss Tracey of Kalavere was judged the best puppy on parade at the South Island Welsh Corgi League’s recent ribbon parade. The reserve award went to Miss D. Resson’s Gilda Shenarigan.
