BAN ON STOCK
No Sign Of Relaxation (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 28. New Zealand has made no progress in its efforts to get Australia to relax its quarantine ban on sheep and cattle imports from New Zealand, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Taiboys) told Parliament today. Replying to a question from Mr V. S. Young (Nat., Egmont), the Minister said New Zealand would continue to press for a relaxation on the ban imposed by Australia.
The only obstacle was the extreme concern of the Australian authorities on the livestock disease blue tongue, said Mr Taiboys.
