CHARGES IN DECIMALS
Railway Fares, Freight (NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 29. The Railways would list all passenger fares and freight charges in dollars and cents from July 10, said the Deputy General Manager of Railways (Mr J. H. O. Tiller) today. Railways staff would accept “pence” coins only in multiples of 6d. When any other sum of old currency was tendered they had been instructed to ask for the next multiple of 6d above.
