NATIONAL APPEALS
Wider Gaps Sought (N.Z. Press Association) LEVIN, June 29. Organisaticns which hold nation-wide door-to-door appeals for funds will be asked to space them further apart. This results from discussion at a recent meeting of the Shannon Lions Club, when concern was expressed at the number of door-to-door appeals held in quick succession so far this year.
The club will send statements calling for a slow-down to the headquarters of the Intellectually Handicapped Children’s Association, Crippled Children Society, Freedom from Hunger Campaign and the Foundation for the Blind.
