PULPWOOD FOR JAPAN
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, June 28.
Two Australian public companies and a major Japanese company are investigating the feasibility of exporting Australian pulpwood to Japan. The Australian companies are Australian Paper Manufacturers, Ltd., and Duncan’s Holdings, Ltd., and the Japanese company is Mitsui. Mitsui has an Australian subsidiary, Mitsui and Company (Aust.) Pty., Ltd. A spokesman for Duncan’s Holdings said the project would probably take eight to 12 months and it would be another 12 to 18 months before the plant was established and put into operation, if the feasibility study proved positive.
