Royal Visit

Elaborate security precautions will be taken when the Queen and Prince Philip visit the Expo ‘67 world fair in Montreal during their six-day State visit to Canada, which starts today. But Quebec separatist leaders have said that they have not planned any anti-< monarchy demonstration during the visit Cries of “Shame” rang through Canada’s House of Commons when a member of Parliament said “No” to a declaration of loyalty to Queen Elizabeth.
Mr Gilles Gregoire, the only M.P. who espouses separatism for French-speak-ing Quebec, objected to a motion to present an Address of Loyalty to the Queen.
