Some people have the mistaken Impression that some shops and businesses will be closed next week in preparation for the change to decimal currency on Monday, July 10. Banks will be the only institutions to close as they have a special task in changing their complete operation to dollars and cents in a relatively short period. ♦ # » Although trading banks will be officially closed on Thursday and Friday of next week, deposits may be made between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the two days, provided they are expressed in dollars and cents, are dated July 10, 1967, and the cash is in minimum amounts of $3OO, and then in multiples of $lOO. Savings banks will also be closed, but special arrangements will be made in cases of real emergency.

Most ordinary sealed letters will need a 3c stamp after D.C. Day. The charge will be 3c for the first ounce and 2c for each additional ounce. Airmail letters will need a 4c stamp for the first half-ounce, and 2c for each additional half-ounce. All postal rates and charges in decimal currency are contained in a handy booklet obtainable at any post office. They are also being delivered to householders. # # Old £ s d stamps will not be on sale at post offices after July 10. But they will still be valid for postage and revenue at the equivalent decimal currency valuation for two years until July, 1969. They may be exchanged for new currency stamps until 1972.
