Great Adies In Form “Ths Press” Special Serol?. AUCKLAND. Great Adios and Mountain Pride emerged as fine prospects for the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting next week-end after runaway victories at the Kumeu Club’s matinee meeting at Alexandra Park on Saturday. Great Adios won by nine lengths from 60 yards in the Viking Water Cup and Mountain Pride took the main trot more easily by 12 lengths. . Almost as impressive among the trotters was Scotleigh. He gave Mountain Pride a start of 42 yards and recorded slightly faster time in finishing second. Great Adios outclassed six opponents in the Viking Water Cup. He accelerated so fast from the start that he was only about six or seven lengths behind the leader after a little more than a furlong.

His trainer-driver, R. P. Norton, was content to lie sixth until going into the back straight the last time. Given his head Great Adios swept effortlessly to the front. He increased his lead steadily and was coasting easily as he passed the post. His time for the 13 furlongs was 3min 27 2-ssec.
