Killed In Power-pole Crash

A young woman was killed instantly and her fiance was injured when the car she was driving left the road near Albury, in South Canterbury, early this morning.

Mary-Ann Nelson, aged 21, a cook, of Lake Ohau lodge.

She was a daughter of Mr R. Nelson, Hanmer Springs. The injured man, who is in the Timaru public hospital with head injuries and facial lacerations, is Mr Laurence Ramsay, of 27 Oxford street Timaru. His condition is reported to be satisfactory. The accident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. near the intersection of Camp Valley road and Chamberlains road at Albury.
