Forest And Bird Society Although the activities of the Canterbury branch of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society had forged ahead, membership had remained static, the chairman (Mr T. M. C. Hay) said in his report to the annual meeting of the association. A senior study group recently introduced instead of week-end tours had been a success, be said. At present the branch had a senior and intermediate or youth study group and plans for a children’s nature training syllabus were being investigated by the national committee. Officers elected are: Chairman, Mr T. M. C. Hay; secretary, Mr W. J. Harris; treasurer, Mr A. K. Witty; committee, Messrs W. J. Close, C. Holdsworth, N. C. Lambrechtsen, R. C. Stone, M. C. Cullen, W. M. Littlewood, J. Thompson, P. S. Crosier, M. L. King, the Rev. C. J. CaUaghan, and Mesdames N. C. Harrold, A. K. Witty, and M. L. King.
