(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 18. Dairy production continued at a record level in April, with new records being established in Northland, South Auckland, Bay of Plenty, Taranaki and Nelson-Marlborough-West Coast, according to the dairy industry bulletin.

In South Auckland, Wellington and Hawke’s Bay-East Coast, production in April was more than 11 per cent more than for April last year. Production in Canterbury, Otago, and Southland showed a considerable drop. Butterfat processed in April amounted to 40 million lb, which was 3.7 million lb, or 7.4 per cent, more than for April, 1966.

For the 11 months to the end of April, butterfat processed amounted to 560.3 million lb, a rise of 4 million lb, br 0.7 per cent above the same period last year. It is expected that the total season's production will be nearly 1 per cent more than for the 1965-66 season and will be the fifth consecutive record season for butterfat production, says the bulletin.
