REMANDED
Wayne Elder, aged 17, an unemployed bottle store hand, was remanded in custody to Monday when he appeared before Messrs L. W. Pepperell and R. Holland, Justices of the Peace, on a warrant issued by the Court for his arrest on failure to appear in the Magistrate’s Court on a charge of assault. Charged with stealing a television set valued at £l7O 10s, the property of Hay’s, Ltd., on Friday night, Owen Stanley Livingstone, aged 46, a painter, was remanded on bail to Monday. Lynleigh Edward Kiernan, aged 43, a workman, was remanded in custody to Monday on a charge of being a rogue and vagabond in that he frequented a public place on Friday night with felonious intent. Herbert Scobie Gilmore, aged 62, was convicted and fined £3 on a charge of being found drunk in a public place. It was his second conviction for the offence in two days.
