Airport Closed
For the fifth successive day fog closed Christchurch airport yesterday—in the morning and again last night. Ten National Airways Corporation flights were affected. The airport was closed from 7.30 a.m. to 10 a.m. for takeoffs, and to 11.15 a.m. for landings. During the morning one flight from Christchurch to Wellington was delayed 30 minutes, and another from Timaru to Christchurch was delayed 2hr 15min. A charter flight from Christchurch to Wellington was also delayed Ihr 38min. The fog, which closed the airport at 7.25 p.m., caused the cancellation of two outward and five inward flights.
