Escaper Caught
Martin O’Keefe, aged 28, who escaped from police custody by jumping off a train at Lyttelton on Wednesday morning, was caught by the police in Manchester street at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. O’Keefe offered no resistance. He was arrested in Wellington on a court warrant after he had failed to appear in the Magistrate’s Court in Christchurch after being bailed on charges of theft and false pretences.
