PURSUANT to Section 54 of the Rating Act, 1925, and the Counties Act, 1956 and other acts amending the same, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Walmate County Council at its ordinary meeting to be held on June 26, 1967, at the County Council Chambers, at Walmate, at the hour of 10 a.m. to make the following RATES for the year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1907 and ending on the 31st day of March, 1968: (1) Under the provisions of Sections 105 and 106 of the Counties Act, 1956, a general rate of 2.20833 pence in the pound (.92 cents in the dollar) on the improved value of all rateable property in the County of Walmate. (2) Under the provisions of Section 12 Timaru Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act 1959, and other acts amending same, a rate of .2715 pence in the pound (.113 cents in the dollar) on the unimproved value of all rateable property as shown in the Valuation Rolle now in force for the Timaru Harbour Board Rating District. (3) Under the provisions of Sections 84 and 96 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, as amended by Section 15 Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act, 1959, an administrative rate of .09 pence in the pound (.0375 cents in the dollar) on the Capital Value of all rateable property as shown in the valuation Rolls now in force for that portion of the Waimate County as is included in the South Canterbury Catchment Board District. (4) Under the provisions of Sections 84 and 96 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Act, 1941, as amended by Section 15 Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act, 1959, an administrative rate of l/12th pence in the pound (.03472 cents in the dollar) on the Capital Value of all rateable property as shown in the valuation Rolls now in force for that portion of the Waimate County as is Included in the Waitaki Catchment Commission District.

(5) Under the provisions of the Counties Act, 1956, an administrative rate on al lands within the Morven Drainage District on a graduated scale according to the Classification List made by the said Morven Drainage District as follows, that Is to say, on the Capital Rateable Value of all lands referred to in the said Classification List and the classes hereinafter mentioned to the following scale: (a) On the Capital Value on all lands of Class "A” a rate of 1 pence in the pound (.16 cents In the dollar). (b) On the Capital Rateable Value on all Second Class lands in Class "B” a rate of 3/16ths pence in the pound (.08 cents In the dollar). (6) Under ths provisions of the Walmate County Council ByLaws 1948, No. 16. a charge on all properties within the Lower Walhao Water Supply District, being a sum separately calculated in respect of each such property and amounting to half of the total arrived at by adding 2s Id (21 cents) for each acre thereof to .8166 pence in the pound (.34 cents in the dollar) of the Capital Value thereof as appearing in the Valuation Rolls now in force for that portion of the Walmate County as is included in the Lower Waihao Water Supply District. (7) Under the provisions of the Downlands (Walmate County) Water Supply By-Law, 1964, the water supply charges as fixed by such By-Law shall be payable annually oil the Ist day of August. (8) Under the provisions of the Oamaru Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act 1964; and the Counties Act 1956, and other acts amending same, a special rate of .058 pence in the pound (.0242 cents in the dollar) on the unimproved value of all rateable property as shown in the Valuation Rolls now in force for that portion of the Waimate. County as is included within the Oamaru Harbour Board District. The said rates to be due and payable to the Waimate County Council Treasurer on the Ist day of August, 1967. The Valuation Rolls for the Waimate County Council are open for inspection by ratepayers during office hours at the County Council Chambers, at Waimate. In accordance with the provisions of Section 106 of the Counties Act, 1956, the estimate Of the proposed expenditure of the Council' showing the amount available, the additional amount required, the total rateable value and the General and other rates necessary, has been ap6 roved by the Council, and may e inspected by ratepayers at the County Council Chambers, Walmate, during office hours.
