ALBION HAS MAIN TASK
The eighth round of senior Rugby matches tomorrow will give a breathing space to most of the leading teams. Linwood, the competition leader, plays- . Sydenham; Christchurch and University A, which are two points behind, also have fairly easy matches, and only Albion, one, point behind Linwood, has a hard game. Albion will play New Brighton and it will be anxious to keep its place close to the leader. New Brighton has a good pack but its defeats have come because its backs are not quite sharp enough on attack.
The Albion side is a very competent one. It has a good pack and some very dangerous attacking backs, particularly J. R. Adams, G. T. Barrett and J. Newlove. The match between Shirley and Old Boys should be interesting. Shirley, after two defeats in the first two matches, has shown great improvement to win the next five. Old Boys are not the most reliable of sides and If the solid Shirley pack can gain control it should win. Lincoln College, the only team without a win this season, has the chance to break its duck when it meets Meri-vale-Papanui, another ride which has not been in very good form.
