LOCAL BODY LOANS
Programme For Region
The major local bodies in Christchurch seeking loans — the City Council, the Drainage Board, North Canterbury Hospital Board and Lyttelton Harbour Board—would probably be called to discuss the Government’s limit on investment in local body loans, Mr L. A. Rich, the City Treasurer said on Monday. But there was nothing new in the proposal that loan applications be organised on a regional basis, he said. This had been done in Christchurch since 1960.
