HUNT CLUB BALL
More than 100 guests attended toe Brackenfield Hunt Club Ball at the Russley Lodge on Saturday evening. They were welcomed by the Master (Mr R. T. Barker) and Mrs Barker. Mrs Barker wore a gown of dart purple velvet, and toe dark green sash of toe Brackenfield lady followers. Guests of honour included the visiting masters and their wives. They were Mr and Mrs J E. Studholme (Waimate), Mr L. J. McLaughlin (Starborough), Mr and Mrs D. C. Goifld (Christchurch), and Mr and Mrs P. Elworthy (South Canterbury). One bowl of flowers in dark green, white, and gold decorated the lounge. Violets decorated the tobies and the menus were handpainted with a design of gold maypoles of hunters, riders and their hounds.
