ACTIVE TRADING BUT MARKET EASIER
Trading was more active, over a wider range, on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday, but the market continued to lose ground.
Frozen meats were easier, with falls by C.F.M. rights and Waitaki, and building and
construction was also down, with falls by C.P.D., Unit Subdivisions, Wilson Cement, and 1 Winstone, although Fletcher gained 2d to 15s lid. I Insurances were steady: the , overseas M.L.C. gained 3d to ' 83s 9d. Breweries and retailers were variable. All price movements were '
narrow. Tasman Pulp and Paper gained another 6d to 50s 6d. Ajax-G.K.N. sold for the first time today. The 10s shares, issued at 13s 3d, and paid to 5s and Is 6d premium (6s 6d) sold for 7s 3d in Christchurch.
