DEFENDING SHIELD

A strong Canterbury table tennis team should have little difficulty successfully defending the Barrow Shield against South Canterbury at Timaru on Saturday.
The two leading men. J. Armstrong (Riccarton) and Ung Nan Ming (Avonalde), were not available for selection.

D. Flint) have chosen the following team:— Men.—A: BrlghtweM (captain), Maklnson, G. R. Saunders (Hoon Hay), M. A. Cox (Wallabies Red). B: R. J. Scott (Wallabies Red, captain), A. Alabaster (Riccarton), J. E. Kyle (Unwood), D. T. Mcßride (Dalllngton).
