KENNEDY KILLING
Broader Plot Contention
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, May 30.
Sixty-six per cent of Americans now believe that the assassination of President Kennedy was not the work of one man but was part of a broader plot, the Louis Harris poll reported yesterday. It noted that this was the first time the conspiracy theory had received such a majority. “Within the .last 60 days, public confidence in the Warren Commission report (which found that Lee Harvey Oswald alone shot and killed President Kennedy) has been pared nearly by half,” the poll reported. “Seven out of every 10 Americans are convinced that there are still many ‘important’ unanswered questions.” A major contributor to the swelling doubt was the investigation by the New Orleans District Attorney, Mr Jim Garrison, the poll said.
