Pilot’s New Venture

<N.Z. Preu Araociation) AUCKLAND, May 28. Captain F. P. Ladd left Auckland International Airport at the week-end to go to school in the United States to start a new phase of his flying career at the age of S 7. For the next six weeks he will attend the Bell helicopter pilot training school, in Forth Worth, Texas, to try for a helicopter pilot's licence.

“When I get back, providing I’m up to scratch, I’m on the market for anybody who wants me,” said Captain Ladd. “If there aren’t any jobs going I shall have to form a company of my own.”

Captain Ladd retired as general manager of Tourist Air Travel on March 31.
