DISPERSAL SALE
A .yearling colt by Thurber Frost from Fyvie Queen brought top price of 340 guineas at a dispersal sale of standardbred breading, racing and unraced stock hold in Christchurch yesterday. . The youngster wee one of Sve lotx odered on behalf of Mr A. H. Edge, of RoUeston. He was bought by Mr T. O, Cameron, of Bakaia.
Mr A. Andrew, of Christchurch, paid 330 guineas for the four-year-old qualified maiden Oxford Diamond. This Garrison Hanover gelding was offered on behalf of the estate of A. C. Hooper, Oxford. Epona, the winner of seven heces, wes sold to Mr L. D. Ashton, of West Melton, as agent for 300 guineas. The vandor of this six-year-old Johnny Globe mare was Mr L. Law, of Blenheim.
Only two of the other 16 lots sold made three-figures. Mr B. McLean, of Christchurch, paid 130 guineas for an unnamed two-year-old colt by Larnte Scott from Core Whites and Mrs R. Frisby, of Invercargill, went to the same figure to secure the nine-year-old mare, War Light, with a well-grown filly foal at foot by Local Light and In foal again to King's Blue. The Larnte Scott colt, was offered on behalf of Mr T. D. Barwick, of Blrllng's Flat, and War Light's vendor was Mr W. D. Barnes, of Little Rlvar.
