YOUNG READERS
Ronald Welch’s new novel, THE HAWK (Oxford University Press, 201 pp.), is a fastmoving story of sea warfare and intrigue in Elizabethan times. It is well Illustrated, but the galleon seems to have acquired some extra guns on pages 136-137. We can expect to hear more of The Hawk and Harry Carey, the galleon’s young second-in-command. This will be welcomed by all 10-14-year-old boys and their fathers.
