The appointee will supervise a production layout and organisation to undertake the design and manufacture of switchboards and control equipment, and to carry out workshop maintenance and repair of auch equipment as starters, welders, transformers, etc. He will Institute and run an effective system of production planning and control; allocate work; carry it out and arrange for inspection, testing and commissioning; and provide training of individual workers as necessary. In short, he will be responsible for achieving output of finished work to high quality standards and to timetable. Qualities required include practical experience of wiring and testing complex industrial control equipment and large switchboards; a technical background beyond Advanced Trade Certificate; sound ideas on workshop layout and production control; and the ability to direct and motivate men engaged in manufacturing and maintenance processes. Attendance at the NJZ.IJf. Industrial Management course to the completion of at least the Foremanship and 'Supervision stage, would be an advantage.
