Finalists Chosen . The three South Island fin. alists in the “Rose of Tralee’ contest were chosen at th* Winter Garden in Christchurch last evening. They are Misses Marie de Roo, of Christchurch, Jacqueline Middrew, of Oamaru, and Joan Smith, of Rangiora. They were chosen from eight contestants and will compete in the national final* in Auckland at Queen’s Birthday week-end. The winner will represent New Zealand at the international contest In August in Tralee, Ireland. •Hie judges, including representatives of airlines cosponsoring the contest, and the “International Rose of
