Single Women

Mr,-4 strongly agree with Helen Garrett's remarks that single women are at a disadvantage in their careen. Some women an definitely far mon efficient and capable than their male counterparts. Then an top executives who take advantage of an extremely efficient and capable single woman, and no matter how hard and conscientiously she worts, flatly refuse to pay wages according to qualifications, skill, and ability. This is the woman who does an honest day's wort but seldom receives a substantial remuneration in return. Because these male executives receive substantial salaries—often directors’ fees as well—they have no regard for a first-class efficient woman, but use her as cheap labour. She is told that because she has no family, all her money is spent on herself. This is difinitely not the case. It is high time first-rate single women received equal pay for equal wort.—Yours, ete., EFFICIENT SECRETARY. May 26, 1967.
