Otira Gorge Road
Sir,—Mr Dellas, of the Ministry of Works, stated in your paper last wook that funds have been allocated for the widening and improvement of ttie Ottaa Gorge road near Reid's Fti| next spring and that the read might have to be closed for some time. Is there any reason why this work cannot be done in July when rainfall is relatively low and the road can easily be dosed for two to three weeks? Snow is no problem at 1500 feet and many tough West Coast contractors are looking for wort in winter and an prepared when it is most convenient to dose the yoe<L— Yours, etc, O.C. May 34, IM7.
