N.S.W. Bets On English Derby
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. The New South Wales T.A.B. will operate on the English Derby, on June 7, because of the great interest in Australian jockeys who will be riding horses in the famous race. It will be the first time the New South Wales T.A.B. has taken bets on a race outside Australia. But the T.A.B. in Victoria conducted a pool on the InterDominion Championships run in New Zealand in 1965. A revision of the regulations covering T.A.B. betting allowing it to operate on the Derby was arranged, last night, at a conference between officials of the Premier’s Department and the T.A.B.
