No Room At Scott Base (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 25. No facilities could be provided for tourists at Scott Base without upsetting the Government’s Antarctic scientific programme, the Minister of Customs (Mr Shelton) said in Parliament today. He said provision for accommodation and transport had been designed to meet the minimum requirements of the scientific staff at Scott Base.

The Minister was replying on behalf of the Minister of Science (Mr Taiboys) to Mr D. J. Riddiford (Nat., Wellington Central).
