FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A broad frontal zone covers the North Island; a ridge of high pressure extends on to the South Island from the south-west. Forecast: Canterbury.—Light to moderate north-easterly winds; mainly cloudy; cool coastal drizzle morning and night Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate easterlies; cloudy with moderate day temperatures; scattered light rain developing in Buller; some fog patches. Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate east or north-east winds; overcast with rain, mainly light; little change in temperatures. Outlook.—All districts: cloudy with scattered rain.
