Expo 67

Sir, —A friend in Montreal has just sent me a copy of the official guide book to the great Canadian centenary exhibition, Expo 67—350 pages of it, in French and English, admirably produced. Surely to goodness, if ever a country should be “pulling out all the stops” to boost its products >t is this country; yet, among the 70 or so countries listed as exhibitors, one looks in vain for any mention of New Zealand. We may not be able to compete with the larger nations, including Communist ones such as Russia and China, but one would have thought that we might at least have “given it a go” if places like Gabon and Ghana, Ruanda and Togo, Korea and Haiti, Monaco and Finland, have managed to do so. Even an exhibition of shearing by Godfrey Bowen or a demonstration of goal-kicking by Don Clarke might have been better than nothing.—Yours, M. TREW. May 25, 1967.
