FERTILISER TARGET
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 24. The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said tonight that he was confident New Zealand would be using three million tons of fertiliser a year within a decade. Although fertiliser was first imported in 1867, it was not until 1960 that the yearly application was more than one million tons, he said to members of the Bulk Fertilisers’ Association. Within six years this figure had doubled.
