PORTER HALF-YEAR
Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 24. Porter Motors, Ltd., Palmerston North, earned satisfactory trading results for the half-year to March 3L directors say in an Interim report.
These results show a reduction on the record peak for the same period the previous year.
However, because of the slackening in deliveries of new cars and the general tightening of economic conditions, it is expected that the second half of the company’s trading year will prove more difficult
They have declared a steady interim dividend of 6J
per cent, payable June 16, ex June 9. This is earlier than in previous years because of the impending switch to decimal currency. Last year, Porter Motors increased its profit by £6897, or 10.9 per cent, to £70,010, to cover the steady 12 J per cent dividend thrice.
