Inquest Held At Cheviot
An inquest into the death of Michael George Paterson, aged 19, a radio technician, of Ashburton, who was fatally injured in a road accident on the Picton-Bluff highway at Hawkswood on November 13, was concluded at Cheviot before Mr K. H. J. Headifen, S.M., acting as Coroner.
Death resulted from cardiorespiratory failure attributed to fractures of the skull with lacerations and hemorrhages of the brain, the Coroner found.
Evidence had been given that Paterson was a passenger in a car being driven south by David Saunders, of Tinwald, when the vehicle left the road and rolled over, the passenger and driver being thrown out before the car came to rest down a bank.
